This live webinar is co-organised with European Commission Joint Research Centre and will dive into the recently released cancer incidence and mortality estimates for 2024 in the European Union, presented in the European Cancer Information System (ECIS). It will introduce attendees to the collaborative efforts of the European Population-based Cancer Registries, focusing on how data are validated and harmonised to produce reliable cancer burden indicators. Attendees will explore the powerful capabilities of ECIS, including its statistical analyses, visualisation tools and the challenges posed by data gaps across Europe. Additionally, the session will present the 2024 cancer burden estimates, underscoring regional disparities, and offer projections of trends up to 2040.
