The European Big Data Value Forum 2025 (EBDVF) is taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark, between 12 and 14 November. The EBDVF is the flagship event of the European Big Data Value and Industrial AI Research and Innovation community. The sessions this year will focus on industrial AI, AI factories and gigafactories, digital competitiveness, generative AI for industry and public sector, AI and manufacturing, AI and agriculture, AI energy as well as trustworthy AI.
Several projects funded under Horizon Europe managed by HaDEA are actively participating in EBDVF.
The following project will be leading the event session “AI at the Edge experimentations for the Industry 5.0 transformation of Manufacturing SMEs”:
- AI REDGIO 5.0 is the successor of AI-REGIO, a H2020 project managed by HaDEA, focusing on renovating and extending the alliance between Vanguard European regions and Digital Innovation Hubs for a competitive AI at-the-edge digital transformation of Industry 5.0 manufacturing SMEs. It will do this by developing the AI REGIO methods, enabling technologies along the edge-to-cloud continuum, supporting EU values and ethical principles, and working with the European DIHs as well as with the AI testing and experimental facilities (TEF) nodes and the Data Spaces deployment programme for a common European data space.
Three other HaDEA-managed projects will participate in the session “Implementing Manufacturing as a Service platforms in a supply chain B2B resilient Data Space”:
- MAASive aims at increasing value network resilience, by enabling manufacturers to rapidly respond to unforeseen external events or sudden changes in supply or demand, utilising manufacturing as a service. This is achieved by developing models of value networks that allow for assessing impacts of events and by servitising existing manufacturing assets in multiple organisations that can be orchestrated and reorchestrated to address these events. Models are the basis for scoreboards that aid human decision makers in making efficient and timely responses and are enabling self-adaption of value networks.
- NARRATE will develop a sophisticated tool using AI, Digital Twin, and IoT technologies allowing end-to-end visibility and control over supply chain operations to monitor and predict potential disruptions, enabling supply chains to achieve improved resilience. The Intelligent Manufacturing Custodian (IMC) will leverage data from various production sources to enable proactive decision-making and act as a nerve centre for a supply chain network, providing real-time monitoring and coordination of intelligent production processes and logistics. An IMC and Digital Twin interaction will generate powerful insights and self-adapting abilities that support an SMN to evolve under human supervision by switching services between multiple external partners to respond to risks and disruptions and improve energy efficiency, product circularity and environmental sustainability across the entire production process.
- M4ESTRO aims to offer active resilience and timely preparedness to the manufacturing industry, in order to ensure a rapid response during disruptive times. M4ΕSTRO will define and implement a novel Smart and Trusted Network of Manufacturing professionals who will be the members of the platform. The network will be capable of implementing effective reconfigurations for manufacturing value chains in response to disruptive events based on the MaaS concept.
