European Hydrogen Week (29 September – 3 October 2025): Discover HaDEA-managed projects working with Hydrogen

The European Hydrogen Week takes place in Brussels from 29 September to 3 October 2025, displaying the forefront of hydrogen-related innovations. With over 25 sessions featuring 220 speakers, and welcoming more than 9000 attendees, the Hydrogen Week allows participants to delve into industry trends, challenges, and cutting-edge technologies, gaining valuable insights into the future of clean energy. Registrations are open following this link

Discover three Horizon Europe projects managed by HaDEA that focus on advanced materials for hydrogen production and use:

  • CleanHyPro is addressing the pressing need for efficient, sustainable hydrogen production. Considering ambitious European climate targets, hydrogen is emerging as a key player in decarbonising our energy systems. It brings together 28 organisations from 11 European countries, offering innovative materials, advanced technologies, and services through a unified Test Bed.
  • ALCHEMY‘s vision is to advance the decarbonisation of the chemical industry, focusing on its primary goal of pioneering sustainable technologies. By leveraging renewable hydrogen as a key feedstock, the project aims to revolutionise the production of ammonia and methanol, aligning these processes with modern environmental and energy efficiency standards.
  • MECALO will use hydrogen to convert CO2 emissions from metal production into a raw material that can be returned to the value chain. This way, the production of critical raw materials like silicon and manganese can be made CO2-neutral, without the use of fossil coal and coke.

Background

The above featured projects are funded under Horizon Europe, a research and innovation programme lasting until 2027. The programme facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing EU policies while tackling global challenges.
