Background information
EU4Health, with a budget of €5.3 billion, is the fourth and largest of the EU health programmes. The EU4Health programme goes beyond an ambitious response to the COVID-19 crisis to address the resilience of European healthcare systems. The programme provides funding to national authorities, health organisations and other bodies through grants and public procurement, contributing to a healthier Europe.
HaDEA implements the EU4Health programme by managing calls for proposals and tenders from 2021 to 2027.
HaDEA also supports health research by managing a number of projects and initiatives under the Horizon Europe programme Cluster 1 (health). The aims of Cluster 1: Health include improving and protecting the health and well-being of citizens of all ages by generating new knowledge, developing innovative solutions and integrating where relevant a gender perspective to prevent, diagnose, monitor, treat and cure diseases.
The EPHC Foundation organises the European Public Health Conference on an annual basis. Next year’s edition will take place on 8 - 11 November 2023, in Dublin, Ireland. The foundation was established in May 2013 as a non-governmental and not-for-profit organisation at the initiative of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA). EUPHA is the recipient of an operating grant under the EU4Health programme, managed by HaDEA.
