On 12 November, HaDEA and the Joint Action on increasing the capacity of National Focal Points of the EU4Health programme (NFP4Health) organised a workshop on best practices in EU-wide projects contributing to achieving the objectives of EU health policies. The session explored the obstacles and enabling factors that determine the impact and success of such knowledge transfer, and how this can be supported by actions undertaken at a cross-country and national level.
The workshop brought together different actions and actors funded under the EU4Health programme with a focus on vaccination and prevention of non-communicable diseases, including cancer: EUVABECO, VAX-Action, Overcoming obstacles to vaccination, Joint Action Perch, PreventNCD , EAAD-Best , Joint Actions ImpleMENTAL , JACARDI and Care4Diabetes and the Association of European Cancer Leagues (ECL).
The workshop offered a platform for critical dialogue among health policymakers, public health professionals and researchers, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The session also provided an opportunity to highlight lessons learned from the actions and actors so far, considering factors such as transferability, scalability and sustainability to guide future policy development.
With this event, HaDEA aimed to explore how best practices promoted and shared through the EU4Health programme can be taken up by EU countries and integrated in their policies and public health interventions, and what concrete actions are needed to support this process. Effective communication and appropriate capacity-building activities were identified as key components of a successful transfer process.
