Horizon Europe Cluster 4 Industry 2024 calls: more than 600 proposals evaluated

HaDEA finished the evaluation of the proposals in four calls for the “Twin green and digital transition” and for “Resilient value chains” under Horizon Europe Cluster 4.

The nine TWIN TRANSITION topics covered several areas including innovative and circular manufacturing (Made in Europe partnership), energy intensive industries (Processes4Planet partnership), and steel production (Clean Steel partnership). 

The seven RESILIENCE topics addressed areas of critical raw materials, development of safe sustainable alternatives of chemicals and materials, and SMEs’ sustainability transition.

In total 382 proposals were received under single stage calls HORIZON-CL4-2024-TWIN-TRANSITION-01 and HORIZON-CL4-2024-RESILIENCE-01. 293 external experts involved in the evaluation of eligible proposals. HaDEA expects to sign 46 grant agreements by October 2024.

In the same period, HaDEA carried out the first stage of the evaluations of proposals received under the two-stage calls: HORIZON-CL4-2024-TWIN-TRANSITION-01-TWO-STAGE and HORIZON-CL4-2024-RESILIENCE-01-TWO-STAGE. 239 proposals were received, with 103 external experts involved in the evaluation. Eligible proposals were assessed under the “blind evaluation” pilot scheme.

From the first stage of these two calls, 56 consortia have been invited to submit full proposals to the second stage, which is set to close on 24 September 2024.

These two calls covered topics of:

• bio-intelligent manufacturing industries (Made in Europe Partnership),
• enhanced assessment, intervention, and repair of civil engineering infrastructure,
• biodegradable polymers for sustainable packaging materials,
• and advanced biomaterials for the Health Care.

For each call, independent observers confirmed the high level of efficiency, impartiality, fairness, and confidentiality of the evaluation process carried out by HaDEA’s staff.
