Health Technology Assessment: apply for Joint Scientific Consultations

The European Commission has opened the first submission period for joint scientific consultations (JSCs) for 2026. This is the third submission period under the EU Health Technology Assessment Regulation, after its entry into application on 12 January 2025. 

JSCs enable health technology developers to consult with the Health Technology Assessment agencies in EU countries on how their clinical studies should be conducted to best prepare for a potential Joint Clinical Assessment.

The submission period is open from 7 January to 4 February 2026 to developers of both medicines and medical devices. There is no fee for this service.

Requests must be uploaded to the HTA IT Platform by 4 February 2026. As access to the platform can take a few days, early registration is recommended. Check the dedicated webpage on how to submit a request.
