The HiPEAC conference is the premier European forum for experts in computer architecture, programming models, compilers, and operating systems for general-purpose, embedded, and cyber-physical systems. This year, the conference will take place in Barcelona, Spain from 20 to 23 January 2025.
Conference Program
The conference is organised by EU-funded project HiPEAC and it consists of parallel workshops, tutorials, special sessions, several large poster sessions, and an industrial exhibition.
Four Horizon Europe projects have joined forces to organise a workshop together, bringing together cutting-edge research and expertise in the field:
On January 22, 10:00 – AERO, OpenCUBE, VITAMIN-V, and RISER will be hosting a workshop on ‘CompContinuum: Computing Continuum of Cloud, Edge, and IoT Technologies’.
The computing continuum of cloud, HPC, edge, and IoT technologies provides diverse capabilities and an ecosystem, including scalability, cost-effectiveness, high-performance processing, and energy efficiency.
Find out more about the workshop here and don’t forget to register here to attend.
The projects
- AERO will enhance the performance, energy and security efficiency and facilitate and motivate user migration to the future European cloud platform, infrastructure and ecosystem.
- OpenCUBE aims to deliver an EPI-based cloud platform blueprint complemented by a full software stack for promoting performance, energy efficiency, and programming efficacy in heterogeneous data centers.
- RISER aims to develop and validate open-source designs for standardised form-factor system platforms suitable for supporting cloud services and deploying cloud applications.
- VITAMIN-V will deploy a complete RISC-V hardware-software stack for cloud services based on cutting-edge cloud open-source technologies for RISC-V cores with a special focus on EPI cores.
Background
Horizon 2020 was the EU’s multiannual funding programme between 2014 and 2020. H2020 provided Research and Innovation (R&I) funding for multi-national collaboration projects alongside individual researchers and SMEs via special funding instruments. Horizon 2020 is succeeded by the Horizon Europe Programme, which will run until 2027.
