About the Horizon 2020 programme

The Horizon 2020 framework programme ran from 2014 to 2020 with a €80 billion budget. It provided research and innovation funding for multi-national collaboration projects as well as for individual researchers and supports SMEs with a special funding instrument with emphasis on Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies. HaDEA manages the legacy Horizon 2020 projects to ensure the completion of the ambitious framework programme and supports in the auditing process of the finished projects.

HaDEA is implementing the legacy projects of the framework programme Horizon 2020. The scope of the projects managed by HaDEA is not limited to the LEIT ICT projects, as it includes also projects from topics on biotechnology, industrial sustainability, climate action, space and health.

Among the projects implemented by HaDEA, there are actions from ERA-NET Cofund, Framework Partnership Agreements, Research and Innovation Actions, Coordination and Support Actions, Innovation Actions, Pre-Commercial Procurements and Specific Grant agreements. Projects managed by HaDEA are using the financial support for third parties funding mechanism to organise open calls.

Additionally, the Horizon 2020 projects currently managed by HaDEA belong to more than 120 different calls, including:

  • the Factories of the Future calls,
  • the Digital Innovation Hubs calls,
  • Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials, Biotechnology, Advanced Manufacturing and Processing (NMBP) calls, and
  • calls related to the societal challenge 5 (Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials), and
