Discover HaDEA projects providing resources on how to deal with bullying at school and cyberbullying

Every first Thursday of November, we observe the international day against violence and bullying including cyberbullying.

The safer internet projects funded under the Digital Europe Programme focus on raising awareness among children, young people, parents, carers, and teachers about how to navigate the internet in a safe and responsible way. Discover some of these projects and their resources and materials:

The Belgian Safer Internet Centre (Belgian SIC) aims to create a better and safer digital environment for children and young people through the Betternet project. The project of four partners, that has a long history of cooperation, promotes a better and safer use of the internet through an awareness raising centre and a helpline, providing support and counselling on e-safety issues and aiming to combat sexual exploitation and abuse of children. As more and more young people are confronted with the problem of cyberbullying, the Belgian SIC has developed a Stop cyberbullying booklet (in FR and in NL).

The Safer Internet Centre of the Czech Republic (SIC CZ) base their work on three pillars: the prevention centre, the helplines, and the hotline for reporting illegal digital content. Some of the materials developed on internet safety are a Cyber game and the book Internet Guardians, which guides young readers through basic topics related to online behaviour and safety in a comic and playful way.

The Portuguese Safer Internet Centre, led by the National security office (GABINETE NACIONAL DE SEGURANCA) offers services aimed at raising the population's awareness, providing clarification and support, and reporting illegal content. At a national level, these objectives are divided into two awareness centres: one focuses on the public, and a second is aimed at the school community - SeguraNet.

The project developed the National plan to Prevent and Combat Bullying and Cyberbullying for all schools. It was presented through the campaign "School without bullying. School Without Violence" – Prevention and combat of bullying, cyberbullying and other forms of violence.
