HADEA/2024/OP/0024-PIN

Setting up a horizon scanning system for medical devices & in-vitro diagnostic medical devices

This call for tenders aims at setting up a horizon scanning system for medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices in order to maintain an up-to-date overview of new and emerging technologies. The system, based on an IT tool, will have to continuously perform screening of available sources for identification of novel, emerging technologies, and assess features that may have an impact on medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices, present opportunities, risks or other features related to new and emerging technologies.

The need for this horizon scanning system has been identified in the context of the implementation of the Regulations on Medical Devices and In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices in order to support competitiveness and innovation in the EU market, while ensuring a high level of protection of health for patients and users.

Estimated budget: €1 000 000

The EU4Health programme goes beyond an ambitious response to the COVID-19 crisis to address the resilience of European healthcare systems. The programme provides funding to national authorities, health organisations and other bodies through grants and public procurement, contributing to a healthier Europe.

HaDEA manages the vast majority of the total EU4Health budget and implements the programme by managing calls for proposals and tenders from 2021 to 2027.
