Description
COP28 will take place from 30 November to 12 December 2023 at Expo City, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. More than 70,000 delegates are expected to attend the event, including the member states (or Parties) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Business leaders, young people, climate scientists, Indigenous Peoples, journalists, and various other experts and stakeholders are also among the participants.
HaDEA is participating in three of the EU side events, which will be streamed online live with no need to register. Find more information about the sessions below:
5 December
13.30-14.30: Empowering a Human-Centric Industry for the Twin Transitions
Marina Zanchi, Director of HaDEA will chair this session. It aims to spotlight European projects committed to driving the green and digital transition, emphasising the pivotal role of skills in addressing contemporary challenges.
15.00-16.00: The Research and Innovation for the Decarbonisation of Buildings
Victoria Petrova, Head of Unit B3 (Industry) will speak at this session organised by HaDEA and JRC. The session will present the key research results from two EU funded research and innovation projects managed by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA). JRC experts will present the current policy relevant research related to mitigation and decarbonisation of the buildings sector.
6 December
13.30-14.30: Energy-intensive industries: Innovative Technologies Toward Climate Neutrality
Katleen Engelbosch, Head of Department B: Digital industry and space will chair this session highlighting the substantial contributions of actions within the industry part of the H2020 and Horizon Europe programmes, which fund breakthrough research and innovation on decarbonisation technologies and sustainable business practices for energy-intensive industries.
