EU4Health call for tenders on framework contracts to measure pathogens and pollutants in untreated wastewater

HaDEA has published the EU4Health call for tenders HADEA/2024/OP/0017 - Framework contracts to provide services and supplies to measure pathogens and pollutants of emerging concern in untreated wastewater samples as part of a global sentinel system. 

This call aims at purchasing supplies and equipment for wastewater sampling and testing, and services to measure pathogens and pollutants of emerging concern in untreated wastewater samples at strategic locations known as super-sites. These super-sites will constitute a sentinel system which will be part of the global sentinel system that will ensure exchange of data to establish an early warning system for future pandemics.

This call for tenders is divided in three lots:

• Lot 1 – Single framework contract for supply - Provision of supplies, equipment and delivery/dispatch services

Supply of sampling and packaging materials and equipment for wastewater samples collection and analysis. Dispatch services to transfer samples from the super-sites to the analytical facilities of lots 2 and 3.

• Lot 2 – Multiple framework contracts in cascade for services - Measurements of pathogens by PCR, WGS/NGS measurements and Shotgun Metagenomics in untreated wastewater samples

Analysis of untreated wastewater samples by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and gene-sequencing (whole genome sequencing (WGS)/next generation sequencing (NGS)) and by study of complex microbial ecosystems through sequencing of entire microbial communities by Shotgun Metagenomics.

• Lot 3 – Multiple framework contracts in cascade for services - Measurement of pollutants of emerging concern in untreated wastewater samples

Application of a multi residual extraction and analytical procedure for the detection and quantification of selected pollutants of emerging concern in untreated wastewater samples.

Maximum ceiling: up to €32 000 000
