HaDEA laser cluster online workshop

The Sustainable products sector of unit B3 in HaDEA has organised a laser manufacturing workshop on 13 June, where projects were showcased from various calls: ALABAMA, DILAPROBILASURFMATELWISEFLASH, GlobalAM, OPeraTIC, GEAR-UP, and LaserWay. The focus of this event was on laser technologies, and specifically on exploitation strategies, key challenges, and synergies with other partnerships.

The workshop set off with a presentation from HaDEA covering the work of the Agency, the role of the Sustainable products sector as well as the CORDIS results packs compiled on manufacturing over the years. This was followed by DG RTD speaking about Made in Europe, Trends in manufacturing R&I, the relevant topics for advanced manufacturing in the Work programme 2025 and what is to come in 2026/27.

From the first session attendees learnt about barriers and challenges to exploitation, which include regulatory barriers in some markets, commercialisation, financial support outside the EU and the pace at which the market is moving inside and outside the EU. The second session showcased the synergies between projects and other partnerships, that include collaboration with the LIMES clusterEFFRAEURAMET, and Photonics 21.

Several projects participated in the Laser World of Photonics between the 24 and 27 of June in Munich, Germany.
