HiPEAC 2023 conference – meet HaDEA-managed projects working on digital services

HiPEAC event

The HiPEAC 2023 conference on cybersecurity, computer architecture, programming models, energy efficiency and machine learning is taking place 16-18 January 2023 in Toulouse, France.

The conference is organised by HaDEA’s project HiPEAC and consists of parallel workshops, tutorials, special sessions, and an industry exhibition.

Discover some of the Horizon 2020 projects in the domains of the Digital Services Package managed by HaDEA and their participation in the conference:

UP2DATE: it elaborated a new paradigm for safety and security (SASE) software updates of the mixed-criticality cyber-physical systems. Two cases of this novel architecture were tested by the consortium of knowledge generators, technology integrators, and end users of automotive and railway sectors. The two demonstrations are available here. It organises the “mixed-criticality workshop and disseminating UP2DATE results” on the WASOS workshop on “Adaptive CPSoS” on 18 January at 10.00 CET.

SMART4ALL: it is working to accelerate digital transformation and increase digital skills in Europe, targeting customised low-energy computing cyber-physical systems and the internet of things (IoT). By establishing a unique pan-European network of Digital Innovation Hubs, it will allow self-sustained and cross-border experiments, enabling transfers of knowledge and technologies between academia and industry. It organises a workshop on “Capacity Building among European Stakeholders” on 18 January at 10.00 CET.

ASSIST-IoT: it is developing an open, decentralised reference architecture, associated enablers, services and tools to assists human-centric applications in multiple verticals. The proposed solution will integrate AI-based functions transferring intelligence closer to the edge (data sources), including devices. The project coordinator of ASSIST-IoT will represent the project at VEDLIoT’s stand.

VEDLIoT: it is developing an internet of things platform that uses deep learning algorithms distributed throughout the IoT continuum. The new platform with innovative IoT architecture is expected to bring significant benefits to industrial robots, self-driving cars, and smart homes. On 17 January, from 14.00 to 17.30 CET, join the 2nd edition of the "DL4IoT: Workshop on Deep Learning for IoT". VEDLIoT will also have an individual booth.

TERMINET: it is working to simplify the connection between different digital devices through a flexible software-defined networking middleware layer. It also works to design, develop, and integrate novel, intelligent IoT devices, and its approach will be tested in real-life situations such as energy, smart buildings, smart farming, healthcare and manufacturing. TERMINET will have a presentation of their latest results in the 2nd workshop on “Deep Learning for IoT (DL4IoT)” on 17 January at 14.00 CET.

iNGENIOUS: it is designing the next generation of internet of things technology to add digital value to future supply chains. It is working to ensure that technical and business enablers can build a complete platform for the supply chain management, targeting a wide range of stakeholders to address interoperability between IoT and blockchain platforms for transport.

Background

The HiPEAC conference is the premier European forum for experts in computer architecture, programming models, compilers and operating systems for general-purpose, embedded and cyber-physical systems.

Horizon 2020 was the EU’s multiannual funding programme between 2014 and 2020. H2020 provided Research and Innovation (R&I) funding for multi-national collaboration projects alongside individual researchers and SMEs via special funding instruments. Horizon 2020 was replaced by the Horizon Europe Programme, which will run until 2027.
