Spotlight on HaDEA-managed projects at European Big Data Value Forum 2024

The European Big Data Value Forum 2024 (EBDVF) will take place in Budapest, Hungary from 2 to 4 October. The EBDVF is the flagship event of the European Big Data Value and Industrial AI Research and Innovation community. The annual event brings together industry professionals, business developers, researchers and policymakers from all over Europe and other regions of the world to promote policy initiatives and industrial and research activities in the areas of Data and AI.

Multiple projects funded under Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe and managed by HaDEA are playing a significant role by partnering with EBDVF to make this event a success. Learn more about the participating projects:

  • Circular TwAIn aims to develop an innovative AI platform that, supported by data sharing within trusted and effective manufacturing data spaces, utilises digital twin technology to offer stakeholders end-to-end sustainability as well as the adaptability to remain competitive in the coming Industry 5.0. Circular TwAIn has recently presented a prototype of a Circular Manufacturing Data Space for the end-of-life (EOL) of automotive lithium-ion batteries. The prototype showcases the achievement of technological convergence between Data Spaces and Digital Product Passports. At the Forum’s session "The Role of Manufacturing Data Spaces in the Implementation of Digital Product Passports”, they will present a concrete case study from their project pilots.
  • AI REDGIO 5.0 is the successor of AI-REGIO, a H2020 project managed by HaDEA, focusing on renovating and extending the alliance between Vanguard European regions and Digital Innovation Hubs for a competitive AI at-the-edge digital transformation of Industry 5.0 manufacturing SMEs. It will do this by developing the AI REGIO methods, enabling technologies along the edge-to-cloud continuum, supporting EU values and ethical principles, and working with the European DIHs as well as with the AI testing and experimental facilities (TEF) nodes and the Data Spaces deployment programme for a common European data space.
  • INTEND aims to deliver 11 novel software tools. The approach and the tools will be tested and validated on 5 vertical domains, to achieve the novel intent-based data operation for video streaming pipelines, machine data platform, 5G data infrastructure, urban data space, and robotic AI applications.
  • CIRCULOOS aims to deliver circular manufacturing tools which orchestrate and continuously optimise the supply-chain end-to-end and comprehensively integrate planning and execution. Combining these with direct calculation of the product sustainability and circularity profile, both internally and with external partners, this environment will enable them to configure and execute disruptive circular manufacturing processes for sustainable production that cover the entire life cycle of products which become waste and are recycled in the same or other life cycles.
  • TANGO aims to create a new platform that provides transparent, secure, fair and accountable, as well as environmentally sustainable, data management. To strengthen the privacy for people and private/public organisations, TANGO brings together 37 partners from 14 countries. The project aims to provide a high impact solution within the transport, e-commerce, finance, public administration, tourism and industrial domains supporting numerous beneficiaries across Europe.
  • CHANGE2TWIN ’s main aim is to ensure that 100% of manufacturing companies in Europe have access to 100% of technologies needed to deploy a digital twin. It provides an end-to-end service to manufacturing SMEs, delivering a thorough analysis of the digitalisation potential along with an actionable plan for implementation that involves both components suppliers and an integrator.

Background

Horizon 2020 was the EU’s multiannual funding programme between 2014 and 2020. H2020 provided Research and Innovation (R&I) funding for multi-national collaboration projects alongside individual researchers and SMEs via special funding instruments. Horizon 2020 is being continued by the Horizon Europe Programme, which will run until 2027.
