HaDEA has recently signed three grant agreements with the Joint Actions EUCANscreen, MENTOR and PrISMA, for a total contribution of almost €38 million. The three Joint Actions will be active in the fields of cancer, mental health and medical ionising radiations:
- EUCanScreen aims to ensure the sustainable implementation of high-quality screening for breast, cervical and colorectal cancers and to implement the recently recommended screening programmes for lung, prostate and gastric cancers. By guaranteeing equal access of eligible EU citizens to screening programmes, this Joint Action will ultimately reduce cancer inequalities across Europe.
MENTOR will work to address equitable access to care for people with mental health conditions, reduction of stigma, recovery and inclusion by:
- Implementing shared guidelines for consideration of mental health in all policies;
- Identifying evidence-based guidelines for promotion and prevention interventions;
- Putting into practice personalised and comprehensive approaches to mental health.
It will also develop specific activities focused on people in need, such as displaced citizens from Ukraine or young people with adverse living conditions.
- PrISMA: This Joint Action will map and bring together relevant actors and stakeholders in the field of radiation protection, in order to enable the uptake of innovations and new developments in the areas of quality and safety of medical applications of ionising radiation across all EU countries. By doing so, it will pave the way for follow-up activities towards a sustainable, high-quality and safe diagnostic and therapeutic use of medical ionising radiation for citizens in Europe.

Background
EU4Health is the fourth and largest of the EU health programmes. The EU4Health programme goes beyond an ambitious response to the COVID-19 crisis to address the resilience of European healthcare systems. The programme provides funding to national authorities, health organisations and other bodies through grants and public procurement, contributing to a healthier Europe.
HaDEA manages the vast majority of the total EU4Health budget and implements the programme by managing calls for proposals and tenders from 2021 to 2027.
